Hatchery

The current maximum setting capacity of the hatchery is 485,000 eggs per week.  These eggs are all produced from the 10 production sites.  A major refurbishment / expansion of the hatchery has recently been implemented.  This totally renewed all the hatching machines and automated the chick take off / counting procedure.  The new machinery installed was Petersime, the market leaders.  The eggs are incubated for 18 days and then transferred to the hatchers for 3 days.  Crown hatch chicks on four days of the week and with an estimated hatch of 84% will produce approximately 407,000 chicks per week.
